Research Infrastructure Award

CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Research Infrastructure Awards Program (RIAP)
Deadline: October 30, 2007

Announcement:
The Research Infrastructure Awards Program provides a one-time allotment of $1,000,000 to be used to support college/school-level research infrastructure requests. The program is designed to fund projects that will enhance facilities and/or provide equipment or other materials that will facilitate research and scholarly/creative activities. Academic units may submit a maximum of two proposals with a funding limit of $100,000 per proposal. All academic and research faculty are eligible for this award.

Multidisciplinary research teams may also apply for this award. Proposals must be routed through the appropriate dean of the lead principal investigator. Funding requests are not to exceed $100,000; the number of awards will depend on the funding levels requested. Awards are non-renewable, and funds must be expended by June 30, 2008. Due to restrictions on the use of state funds, Research Infrastructure Award Program funds may not be used for faculty stipends, summer salaries, travel, or hosting. NSHE Board of Regents purchasing policies and procedures apply to the use of these funds. NSHE purchasing policies and procedures (PDF) are available on the web.
