Research Development Award

The Research Development Award is intended to provide funding of up to $10,000 per project for a variety of scholarly and creative activities. Full-time academic faculty members are eligible for this award, which seeks to support faculty who are initiating new university research projects and creative pursuits. Depending on the availability of funding and the number of applications received, approximately 10 awards are offered annually.

Requests can be submitted for a variety of activities, including research proposal development, publication preparation, research-related travel, equipment purchases, artistic productions or exhibits, and the collection of data. Additionally, the funding may be used for the enhancement of collaboration with private industry, government, or community partners. Awards are nonrenewable, and project duration is limited to one year. The call for proposals is typically announced in the spring semester.
