Institutional Review Boards (IRBs)

Each Institutional Review Board (IRB) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas falls under the umbrella of the Federal Wide Assurance (FWA) 00002305 covering all human subject research conducted at UNLV.  The FWA is approved by the Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Human Research Protection.  UNLV has two Institutional Review Boards: the Social/Behavioral Sciences IRB and the Biomedical Sciences IRB.

The UNLV Office for the Protection of Research Subjects (OPRS) is responsible for the administration of the Institutional Review Boards. Meetings are held monthly throughout the year for each IRB.
