The Office for the Protection of Human Subjects

CyberIRB

The Office for the Protection of Research Subjects (OPRS) has launched CyberIRB®, the new electronic Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocol submission system. The new system will allow researchers to submit all IRB applications to OPRS via the internet. The system will allow an eligible PI as designated under the UNLV PI Eligibility Policy to submit via CyberIRB®.

CyberIRB® allows researchers to view and manage all protocol materials online in one secure location. This system will allow the IRB to provide a more timely review of protocols and reduce the turnaround time required for approval. The result will create a more efficient environment for all concerned.

Access is simple:

  1. Complete the “CyberIRB® Login Confidentiality Statement” found on the OPRS “Forms” web page.
  2. Email the form to OPRSHumanSubjects@unlv.edu from your UNLV email address.
  3. A login user name and password as well as information on how to access CyberIRB® will be sent directly upon OPRS staff receipt of the request.

Weekly workshops will be available to better acquaint researchers with the new system.
